  • Prerequisite: It is required that you have taken and passed the course on the Life of Christ I.
This is a prerequisite for taking this course.

  • It is your responsibility to meet all prerequisites for taking this course.  This includes a prerequisite of a Bachelor degree as well as successful completion of the Life of Christ I course and any other prerequisites or requirements named in the instructions.  If you have not met all prerequisites and requirements, then the paper will be rejected.

  • Suggestions on how to proceed:   SIGN IN if you have not already done so.
    1. You have already completed a study of the Life of Christ I, this is a prerequisite for attending this class, so it would be beneficial to you to review that study and pick out any points of Christ's life such as His office as Prophet, Priest, and/or King, His birth, the Crucifixion, Old Testament prophecies fulfilled by Christ, His lineage, His Ascension, Christ as the Son of God, Christ as the Son of Man, His Passion, a chronology of His life, the travels of His life and ministry, His call of and relations to His Apostles, the institution of the Church by Him, the geography of His travels, or any other aspect of His life about which you can gather enough details to compose the Research Paper.
    2. After deciding on your subject, then start making a list of main points to include in your research.
    3. After exhausting the previous approach, you should then reread one or all of the Gospels, depending on their pertinance to your chosen subject, and add to your list any points relevant to your subject.  You may want to start adding sub-points at this time.
    4. Finally, make a note of any points of contact that you have found between Christ as presented in the New Testament and the Old Testament and, if they are relevant to your subject, include these as main points or sub-points in your list/rough outline.  If they are not relevant to your subject then you should not include them in your list/rough outline.

  • Outline:
    1. Utilizing the list you made with all of the main points and sub-points and adding any others you may deem necessary, make a final outline to guide you through the composition of your research paper.
    2. Your outline must be submitted before proceeding with your actual research and composition and must be in proper outline format.  Click HERE for instructions for a proper outline format and a sample outline.  The outline format and sample outline given are general formats which can be followed for all outlines. Write the outline in your word-processor and then attach that file to an email and send it to us for approval.  Use the Subject line, Life of Christ Research Paper Outline and send it to docvbk@saltlakebiblecollege.org

    4. You must keep a log of time spent in research.  The log will be entitled "Study Log for Life of Christ Research Paper." In that log must be the date, time start, and time finish, of each research session.  You must submit this log to us when you submit your research paper. Submission of your log is required for you to receive credit for this course. Minimum hours of research required for the course is 32 hours.  You may use as many hours of research as you want but the minimum is 32 hours.  Research time does not include time spent in preparing your outline nor does it include time spent in the final composition of the paper.  It is to be time spent in research alone.  However, it can include the time spent writing preliminary notes while in the process of doing research which, of course, is part of the research process.  But the actual composition time for the final paper is not included as research time in the log.  Only actual research time is to be recorded in the log.  There is a link to the log form on the next page.
